Palin advantages being misused by McCain advisors

By jerry - Posted on 13 October 2008

The republicans have a feisty Ronald Reagan in skirts. They should take a tip from the Truman campaign and have her on the road every day speaking to crowds of people all across a targeted state. Instead McCain's campaign advisors have her meeting as often as possible with groups of reporters answering loaded questions on foreign policy. What a waste of time. It is like burying a flaming lantern in a manhole. She is a people person and people of both genders relate and respond to her.

Every day she should be making a 30 minute speech in at least seven different locations using a decorated bus to go from one spot to the next. Make the speech and quickly move to the next speech stop. Skip the reporter interviews because it is a waste of time and a waste of an opportunity to meet people who she can relate to. The seventh stop could be a giant Palin rally and it would be fun for everybody there. I think McCain's campaign advisors have never run a local & state campaign by their tactics. Get out of the comfortable offices and get out and meet the people.

Where to go with the Pelin bus of pit bulls with lipstick? What does Sarah talk about? Skip the foreign policy crap and get down to local issues. Palin should be in Pennsylvania and speaking to the coal country people about how the democrats are going to cause horibble unemployment. The democrat Kyoto Treaty lovers hate coal and any idea of modern treatments and techniques of using coal. A vote in Pennsylvania for a democrat is a vote to put your relatives out of work so the Kyoto Green extremists can get a nice headline in a French newspaper.

Palin should also spend time in Michigan with Romney. She should be hammering at the Kyoto requirement that the USA reduce its work force energy out put by six percent. Translate this to mean six percent extra unemployment on top of the problems Michigan already has. A vote for the democrats in Michigan is a vote for six percent more unemployment for your friends and relatives. This message by the Palin bus caravan of pit bulls with lipstick would generate its own positive publicity for all local republican candidates as well.

Campaigning is not rocket science brain activity. If it were most congress people would not be in office. Instead it is getting out to meet the people with one or two issues they can relate to and identify you with the hope of solving it. This stupidity of trying to be presidential just separates you from the working person who does not care what the social elite in Washington D.C. are thinking, especially on how to look or be presidential.

Ronald Reagan did not win office by being presidential. He won because he had a few good ideas about moving America that he believed in. He kept hammering those ideas again and again, using them in some way to answer every question. He did not let news media set his speaking agenda. He became presidential because he had his own presidential vision. Newt Gingrich revolutionized the brief take over of congress from Clinton's democrats by having a Contract with America of a few basic points republicans and the voters believed in. These contract points were used as part of any question brought by the news media.

You don't win by trying to show you have a solution to every problem on the planet. You win like a Truman, a Kennedy or a Reagan by working your strengths on a few basic ideas you believe in that will attract and comfort the people. These are the fundamental lessons history shows for politicians on how to win. If you don't remember the lessons of history you are condemed to be another historical loser!!!
